If you want something more than a static image on your desktop, a clock would be a good solution. It would solve the issue of a static desktop and it is useful, at the same time. The latest Windows versions allow you to place a clock and other gadgets on your desktop, but ClockWallpaper lets you place a wallpaper with a built in clock. It comes with multiple wallpapers and it lets you download new ones from the Internet.

The application works on all Windows editions, starting from Win 95 and its hardware requirements are modest. There is no need to select your time zone or other similar information. You can install ClockWallpaper in a few moments.

When you run the application, it will change your wallpaper automatically. The wallpaper includes a digital and an analog clock, each displaying the system's time. They are incorporated in the wallpaper, so you may click and drag or place icons over the clocks, without affecting them. Any changes you make to the Windows clock will affect the ones on your desktop as well.

Clicking the application's system tray icon will reveal its controls, in a pop up menu. You can use them to select a different wallpaper, enable or disable sounds, change the clock's format or switch to winter mode, to change the colors on your desktop. ClockWallpaper allows you to set up alarms as well. This is done on a small window, where you can select a precise time, day of the week, month and date. It is possible to create recurring alarms, if you need to be reminded about something on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Additionally, you may type a message and the software will display it when the alarm is triggered.
